Lily and William, who discovered love in The Book of Love, are planning their new life together in Rome when Poppy, Lily s big sister, announces that she s found an uncle and cousin they'd never heard of before. Their joy at meeting their new family comes crashing down when their double-crossing cousin Andy accuses William of stealing and attempted murder. A valuable fragment from a Roman frieze has been stolen from Andy s father and Andy is pointing the finger at William, while also trying to woo his cousin Lily. He s a bad piece of work and Lily has to act quickly to save William, retrieve the fragment and bring Andy to justice.
An urgent flight to Italy, some smart work in Andy s hotel room and quick thinking on a dark night on the Amalfi coast might just be enough to right the wrongs, or see Lily become the next victim in the crazy web woven by Andy s addled mind.
With equal amounts of charm and action, The Fragment of Dreams will steal your heart.

Review: Lily is back in The Fragment of Dreams and is as eccentric and eclectic as ever. As she plans to move to Rome with her loving boyfriend William, Lily's sister returns and uncovers family they never knew they had. Suddenly Lily's perfect plans start to fall apart. As with all romance fiction, nothing ever quite goes to plan in love and Lily soon find herself alone in Australia and having to travel to Italy to fight for love and uncover lying family members.
As with the Book of Love, Lily's character is easy to love; she develops further in this book yet still maintains her eclectic fashion and love of jam making. William is as dark and mysterious as ever, making it easy for everyone, including Lily to suspect him of poisoning Lily's Uncle and running off to Rome with a valuable ancient fragment.
I enjoyed this book as much as Phillipa Fioretti's last, The Book Of Love, as it keeps you on the edge of your seat as you travel around the world in search of love. If a little predictable, this is made up for by the interesting characters and the food which is described with much detail throughout the book.
Lily's sister Poppy is painted as the perfect image of an Australian cattle worker and it is easy to picture their cousin Andy as a drug-fuelled artist lively a bohemian lifestyle in Sydney's inner suburbs. Although I often found myself screaming at the pages, frustrated by the fact that if Lily and William would only talk to each other things would make a lot more sense, I would still recommend this book, especially to fans of the Book of Love.
