For LA teenagers, Rebecca, Nicki, Sam, Chloe and Marc, it's just not enough to admire their favourite celebrities and all that they have. Obsessed with fashion, fame and the glamorous life of their heroes, the group wants to get their hands on their idols' stuff.

Tracking their favourite celebrities online – Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Orlando Bloom – the teens break into each of their homes and steal their designer clothes and possessions. It's a dream come true and a thrill ride for the group ‐ especially when they become famous for their outrageous crime spree.

Based on true events, the film showcases the absolute absurdity of the events however the depth within the story is sufficiently explored by Coppola which enables us to be intertwined with the characters rather than the celebrities.

The Bling Ring is a drama with substance; the film is determined and once you look past the shallow and superficial storyline you can see a film laced with values; let this be a lesson learned.
