In 1985, 8-year-old John Bennet received more than he bargained for when he wished for his new Christmas gift to come to life as his best friend. His wish is granted under the magic of a falling star and his cherished teddy bear, Ted, sprang to life and vowed to remain John's thunder buddie for life.

27 years later, Ted, now a drinking, bong-smoking, fornicating teddy bear, is still John's best friend and roommate. Their friendship, however, is taking a toll on John's relationship and career. John's girlfriend, Lori and boss, Thomas are fed up with Ted's destructive influence on John's life and advise him to grow up.

Following a deliciously vulgar and blissfully hysterical series of events, John is forced to choose between a life of partying with Ted and his future with Lori, the true love of his life.

From defecating prostitutes, to overweight kidnapping unstable children, and Ted's legendary one-liners, nothing is sacred in McFarlane's hilarious movie creation. Prepare to wet your pants with laughter as Ted is the number one comedy of the summer.
