Synthony 2019

Synthony 2019

Synthony is a unique collaboration between orchestras, DJs, live vocalists and feature musicians, playing the biggest dance tracks of the last 30 years.

Featuring, state of the art audio, lights, lasers and a visual show that will transport you to a fully immersive, nightclub experience. An energetic show from the outset, this is not an orchestra as you know it. This celebration of dance music is more than just a show, it takes the audience on a nostalgic journey, back through their most memorable electronic experiences.

The magic of Synthony is that the music programming is a tightly held secret, so the audience are in for a surprise at each show. Past shows have featured arrangements of tunes by the likes of: Fatboy Slim, Delirium and Robert Miles to name a few.

Synthony's New Zealand shows in 2017 and 2018 were attended by Sold Out audiences and now the tour will expand, playing in 4 New Zealand cities and making its Australian debut in Brisbane at the beautiful and historic City Hall.

Synthony is a show produced by kiwi DJ and producer: Erika Amoore. The unique show's roots began in 2017, when Erika and co-founder David Elmsly approached Peter Thomas (Conductor and Music Director of ASO) after watching Pete Tong's BBC 'Ibiza Proms' on YouTube and wanting to experience a similar event in New Zealand. Rather than hope the event would one day reach New Zealand, they decided to put the show on themselves. Peter was immediately taken with the idea and knew it was something the ASO would love to work on. He enlisted Ryan Youens (an Arranger with hundreds of professional credits to his name), including film scores for 'The Hobbit an Unexpected Journey' and 'The Desolation of Smaug' and for events such as the Rugby World Cup and Pan-Arab Games.

After sold out events in 2017 and 2018, Erika and David could see a huge potential for the event that went beyond Auckland and knew more was needed to scale the event. In late 2018, they partnered with Duco events - this new partnership allowed Erika to leave her corporate job and work on delivering Synthony to its full potential, full time. In addition to the New Zealand tour, the first Australian shows are scheduled for 2019 and other territories across Asia and the U.S are in the pipeline.
