Sydney Santa Spectacular goes to the dogs for one special day

Pouting pooches, dapper doggos and festive fur babies – get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime Santa Paws extravaganza, because Australia's biggest Christmas festival is hosting a doggy-day out like no other this Saturday at the Sydney Santa Spectacular at Penrith Panthers.

Bringing the bark on November 30 at Penrith Panthers, The Sydney Santa Spectacular will – for the very first time – welcome pups of all types and sizes to celebrate in the magic of the silly season – transforming Western Sydney's home of the big cat Panthers into a four-legged haven.

Carousing on a double decker carousel, riding on Santa's sleigh, lapping up falling snow in an enchanted winter forest or sniffing out the highs of a ferris wheel ride….nothing will be off limits for Christmas canines this Saturday.

With grass under foot and dog-friendly Insta moments at every turn, the winter-themed Christmas festival will operate three dog-friendly session times including 9am–12pm, 1pm–4pm and 5pm–8pm.

"We're a month-long family-friendly event, and for so many people their fur babies are either their entire family, or at least as important to them as other family members," said Jade Evans, Sydney Santa Spectacular Founder and Director. "So, this year we wanted to recognise that, and have a bit of fun by allowing all the dogs to join their owners for a Santa photo and festive fun at the event."

With a strong emphasis on value-for-money for families, event organisers have created a flat-priced golden entry ticket, which entitles all festivalgoers to unlimited rides, activities, entertainment and free parking over a three-hour session.

The spirit of giving is also an integral part of the Sydney Santa Spectacular, adds Jade Evans, noting that her favourite event element is a towering charity Christmas tree, under which attendees are encouraged to place gifts for sick and needy kids.

For the special Santa Paws day on November 30th, attendees are asked to bring dog food and treats, dog toys and donations for Bars March – an animal welfare initiative that raises money each year for NSW Animal Welfare League by 'having a drink to save a dog' each year with some of the nation's favourite bars.

All dogs attending the Sydney Santa Spectacular event must be on a lead, have a friendly temperament (to children and other dogs), and owners are responsible for cleaning up any 'Christmas presents' their four legged friends may decide to deposit at the event…..

Shade, air-conditioned event spaces and water buckets will be provided for all dogs who attend the event.

Since its founding in 2014 the Sydney Santa Spectacular has welcomed more than 400,000 people through its doors, with Christmas-lovers of all ages flocking from across Australia and abroad for a North Pole experience like no other.
