Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 Review

The all-new flagship headphone rewrites the rules of open-ear audio, featuring the newest, 10th generation of bone conduction technology that Shokz is known for, superpowered by DualPitch™. This new technology is an industry first by Shokz, creating the perfect duet between bone conduction and air conduction sound delivery, the former handles mids and highs with total precision, while the latter releases controlled, subterranean bass.

The OpenRun Pro 2 features new dual reed and coil innovative design which stabilises the vibration system, producing a purer vocal sound resulting in an unparalleled listening experience that's as clear as it is powerful. The headphones' custom algorithm assigns each sound element to a dedicated driver, crafting a balanced, dynamic, and immersive 3D soundscape for concert-like audio quality.

Featuring Shokz's signature open-ear design, OpenRun Pro 2 keeps you immersed in your workout while staying grounded in your surroundings. Essential sounds like traffic, fellow joggers or that epic bird call –aren't totally blocked out, ensuring your safety, but they don't take over your playlist either, enriching your listening experience. OpenRun Pro 2 intelligently optimises volume range, crafting a balanced, dynamic and immersive 3D soundscape that makes your audio clearer even if you are out and about.

Snug, Secure Fit
OpenRun Pro 2's ergonomic ear hooks and unibody frame provide a secure, comfortable fit that defies slips and adjustments. Users can experience unshakeable stability thanks to the weight-optimised design, while integrated nickel-titanium alloy memory wire delivers a clamping force that's secure without being uncomfortable – even during intense activities.

The nickel-titanium frame and ear hooks ensure a snug and secure fit for different sports from light workouts to the extremes. The feather-light fit, topped with a soft silicone finish, introduces 16% less clamping force – offering comfort that lasts as long as your playlist.

Longer Playtime. Faster Charging
The OpenRun Pro 2's larger battery, coupled with dual smart drivers that are assigned specific roles, improves battery life while also reducing power consumption. A full charge provides 12 hours1 of music, and a 5-minute Quick Charge offers 2.5 hours2 of listening. The OpenRun Pro 2 has notably
adopted a USB-C charging port for the consumer's benefit.

Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 Review:

The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 headphones have made significant improvements over their predecessor. Designed with runners and cyclists in mind, they offer both bone conduction and air conduction technology, allowing users to stay aware of their surroundings while enjoying a more balanced sound. With the new dual-driver system, the OpenRun Pro 2 delivers deeper bass and clearer vocals compared to older models. Comfort is their standout feature, these headphones rest outside the ear and are lightweight, so they don't cause discomfort during extended wear. They also boast a 12-hour battery life, which is an improvement from the previous model's 10 hours, and quick charging that provides 2.5 hours of playback after just five minutes of charging

In addition to sound enhancements, the OpenRun Pro 2 features practical upgrades like USB-C charging, eliminating the need for a proprietary cable, which was a limitation of the previous model. The headphones come with a companion app offering four EQ presets and custom sound profiles, providing flexibility for different listening environments. The fit is secure and stable, making them ideal for vigorous activities like running or cycling. However, while the bone conduction system works well for spoken-word content, there's still room for improvement in music. At $179.95, they're a solid investment for fitness enthusiasts seeking safety and comfort without compromising too much on sound quality.
