Red Bull Billy Cart Races Into Sydney

Fearless drivers and automotive daredevils assemble! The hilarious, globally-renowned Red Bull Billy Cart race is firing its way into Sydney on Sunday, 15 November, 2015 and applications are now open.

Red Bull Billy Cart is calling for creative geniuses and their pit crews around Australia to unleash their imagination and join forces to build these rubber burning street machines.

This unique non-motorised race challenges experienced drivers and amateurs alike to design and build outrageous billy cart dream machines and compete against the clock in a downhill race littered with obstacles and bends. The search is on to find the most creative speed demons from all states to battle it out and take the glory as the Australian Red Bull Billy Cart champion!

With vehicles ranging from realistic replicas to anything the imagination can conjure up, previous designs have included a piano, giant baby carriage, massive corn on the cob and the Golden Gate Bridge. Each handmade machine is fuelled by nothing but sheer determination and the force of gravity with entrants judged on three criteria – Creativity, Performance, and Speed. You need to be fast and have a bit of sparkle! At the end of the race, the team with the highest total score takes out the top spot and the prize of a money-can't-buy Red Bull experience.

Since the first Red Bull Billy Cart in Brussels in 2000, more than 40 races (often referred to as Red Bull Soapbox in other markets) have taken place around the world – from England to South Africa, Helsinki to St. Louis, Jamaica to Italy.

To get cracking, head to www.redbullbillycart.com.au and request an application kit. Then it's time to dust off the drawing board, assemble the pit crew and get building! Entry is free and must be postmarked by 17 July, 2015. Successful teams will be notified by 31 July, 2015.
