My treatment, Intense Firming Facial lasted for one and a half hours, cost $135.00
Entering the room, I instantly feel at peace, the candlelight is soothing as to is the herbal cup of tea. We talk about my skin thoroughly and I discover my skin is not what I thought. I undress and get comfortable in my toweling. Mabel wraps my fee in warm towels and we begin. The traditional ayurvedic facial starts with a head and shoulder massage, using OmVeda oil releasing my tension.

A gentle 'Aloe Cleanser' was used to cleanse my skin, which contains a combination of orange and lemon extract to clean the pores. The aloe ingredient acts as a natural rehydrant, effective on dry to normal skin types.

My 1st mask, OmVeda 'Scrub Grains' for sensitive skin, contains a mixture of herbal ingredients including wheat, barley spanish jasmine, walnut, lemon peel and sour orange, which smells delicious. The mask is blended with yogurt for a consistency suitable to apply to my skin. The mask was developed for skin with scars, freckles, blackheads, blemishes and sensitivity, blending it with yogurt gives a cooling feel that is gentle on my skin.

While my mask scrubs my skin, Mabel is busy gently massaging my arms, hands and fingers, placing a warm towel back over my body when finished, which was delightfully cozy. Mabel then gently wipes off the mask with a warm face towel and tones my skin with 'Rose Skin Toner', with the goodness of roses, dates and other herbal ingredients. It smells beautiful.

Placing her hands over my nose with the moisturiser so I can smell the ingredients, Mabel uses gentle massage techniques to invigorate the skin on my face and bring back circulation. 'Honey Sandalwood'moisturiser is an intensive herbal moisturiser that provides nourishment to the skin, helping remove lines on the neck and upper lips. The moisturiser combines the rich nourishing and softening qualities of honey with the aroma and protective nature of sandalwood, recommended for dry to normal skin.

Next is the 'Thermal Face Lift'mask. Mabel applies a thin gauze to the skin to help remove the mask once set. The mask deep cleanses the pores, restores balance, tightens the skin, improves cell respiration and renewal. Heat is produced between the mask and the skin at an ideal temperature at which skin absorption is enhanced, stimulates circulation and improves cellular function. As the mask hardens it tightens the pores, sculpting facial contours, reducing wrinkles, improving muscle tone and skin elasticity.

Whilst my mask hardens, Mabel gently massages my feet using OmVeda oils. Wrapping them up again in warm towels once finished. I'm feeling very calm and relaxed at this point.

Mabel peels off the Thermal Face Lift mask effortlessly and wipes the remaining mask off with a warm cloth in a singular motion hardly disturbing the skin. She then combats the dark circles and puffiness around the eyes with 'Seaweed Gel', made from acacia gum, red algae, almond oil, honey and sweet flag. It gives off a soothing and cooling effect to the eyes. An 'Eye Cream' is then applied, made from almond oil, cuddapa almond extract, Indian barberry and mace. It contains proteins, minerals and olein and is rich in vitamin A, helping prevent premature wrinkling. Yes please.

Mabel finishes off with 'Honey Sandalwood Moisturiser' over the entire face and neck nourishing and softening my skin. I feel great.
