Paul Harris, Senior A&R Manager of Sony Music Entertainment Australia has been discovering and nurturing talent for many years. Paul noticed Tonight Alive in their early days "One of the most exciting parts of the role of an A&R person is finding talent really early on, nurturing it and seeing it progress to its full potential. Tonight Alive are a great example of an act I came across just as they were finishing High School, and it was already clear to me that they had potential way above and beyond the tiny community centre I first saw them play at. A year in, and they have made an album with world-class producer Mark Trombino who worked with bands such as The Living End and Jebediah. The biggest buzz I get from this job is seeing kids who had the same dreams as I had when I was at school becoming a reality, and playing a part in the realisation of that."

Tonight Alive, a pop-punk five piece band have built a creditable reputation within the industry having toured extensively with bands including; Sum 41, Forever The Sickest Kids and the Bamboozle festival alongside Lil' Wayne, Bruno Mars and Motley Crue. The band will hit the road again next week supporting Anberlin and then again with Simple Plan in September.

In 2010 their self funded first EP "All Shapes & Disguises" sold 10,000 copies and tracks from the EP were featured on reality show The Hills after Tonight Alive were contacted by an Agent at MTV USA. The Agent heard the EP after finding the band online thanks to the high traffic and fan blogging on their MySpace and PureVolume sites. Their songs have also featured on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians". Tonight Alive will release their debut album 'What Are You So Scared Of?' featuring their current single 'Starlight' on October 14.

"I think one of the most important things for a young artist is not to be afraid of anything" says Jenna McDougall, vocalist of Tonight Alive, "You need to think big! Something we learned early on was that you have to write what comes naturally to you and make sure you are doing something you love. Also, networking in your local scene is so important, make friends, make connections. Get yourself out on the internet and get heard, never think you're too big or too good not to listen what other people have to say, an open mind will always serves you well." Musicians from every metro, regional and rural High School across Australia have an opportunity like never before, the chance of scoring a recording deal with Sony Music Entertainment to the value of $50,000 as well as being included in the line-up at Australia's biggest touring music festival the Big Day Out 2012 all thanks to MySchoolAct, powered by Motorola.
