McKenzie's Toasted Coconut Chips and Coconut Flour

Coconut is the ultimate superfood for summer – fresh tasting and healthy. Packed with nutrients and a good source of fibre, iron and folate, coconut comes in an array of forms and McKenzie's offers a wide range of products including the new Toasted Coconut Chips and Coconut Flour.

Coconuts are a rich source of minerals including copper, zinc, iron, magnesium, phosphorus,
potassium and selenium making them a great all-rounder.

It is only recently that modern researchers have begun to fully discover the health benefits this fruit offers. Whether it's as a snack or added to sweet or savoury dishes.

McKenzie's recognises that there are many ways to use coconut in baking and so now offers Coconut Chips, Coconut Flour, Fine Desiccated Coconut, Moist Coconut Flakes and Shredded Coconut.

McKenzie's Toasted Coconut Chips have been lightly toasted to produce a crunchy, nutty chip making them a perfect snack for those on the go or for a tasty offering for guests over the
Christmas season. A handful of Toasted Coconut Chips make the perfect snack mid-afternoon when the 3pm slump strikes.

McKenzie's Toasted Coconut Chips are available in Coles and Independent stores nationally.
For a delicate coconut flavour in baking, McKenzie's All Natural Coconut Flour is made from dried
pure coconut meat. Not only is Coconut Flour gluten-free and a source of protein, it also adds a
delicious flavour to baked goods such as bread, cakes, biscuits and pancakes.

'At McKenzie's, we pride ourselves on our extensive range of coconut based products and we have been able to develop many recipes that make it easy for consumers to incorporate coconut into all meal times," Melissa Clayton, nutritionist and Marketing Manager at Ward McKenzie's said.

'We make these recipes available for our consumers so they can feel comfortable using these new products. Wheat free flour, such as our Coconut Flour will perform differently to grain based flour in cooking and baking but the results are delicious," Melissa continued.

McKenzie's has also put together tips for using its Coconut Flour in baking:
It is not a one-to-one replacement. A lower quantity is required versus wheat flour due to its
higher absorbency
Quantities of the other ingredients will need to be altered slightly. In particular, recipes will
require more moisture in the form of extra eggs and other liquids such as milk or water
Use a lower cooking temperature and a longer cooking time
Enjoy experimenting!

McKenzie's Coconut Flour is available in Woolworths and Independent stores nationally.
