Solid Shampoos
To use, simply wet hair gently, stroke directly onto the head coating the hair evenly, then massage to work up a lather. Rinse well. You can also use much as a soap, work up a lather in your hands and apply to wet hair.
Lush patented its solid shampoos in 1982. The solid formulation has many benefits: you need to use less product so there is less risk of irritation; it allows a higher volume of essential oils, which not only fragrance the hair beautifully, but are carefully blended to aid the properties of the shampoo; and there are less preservatives and minimal packaging. Lush solid shampoos are as vibrant in colour as they are effective in cleansing the hair, treating the scalp and boosting shine. Economical to use, each bar lasts up to 100 washes. They are practical and convenient and can be carried around in Lush's smart and sassy little shampoo tins.

Two-In-One Shampoo and Conditoner
Godiva: Give your hair the moisturising boost it needs with softening, conditioning cocoa, shea and coconut butters. Your hair will be left so beautiful no one would notice you were riding the streets naked. It's a two-in-one shampoo and conditioning bar that's completely vegan. Sexy, jasmine-scented, it creates a richer feel to the lather when you wash your hair. Godiva is named after the woman who famously rode through the streets of Coventry with only her long flowing locks to cover her modesty. (Vegan.)

Solid Conditioners
Simply stroke directly onto the hair from the scalp to the ends. Leave for up to 10 minutes and rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Jungle: It's the ultimate detangler, which while it coats and protects, will not flatten hair. Exceptionally intensive, yet incredibly light, it will condition, detangle and tame the most unruly, long, dry - or all three - hair types! A unique formulation consisting of fresh tropical fruits of banana and fig to soften; and kumquat and passion fruit whose citrus nature improves shine. Whole fresh avocado is packed with vitamins, protein and oil to help protect, soften and give control. Soya lecithin has been added for an extra measure of good, strength building protein. The Lush blend of ylang ylang, vetivert, sandalwood and violet are sweet and clean smelling and an excellent tonic for the scalp. (Vegan.)

Liquid Shampoos
Pour into the palm of the hand and gently massage onto wet hair. Lush bottled shampoos come in 100g, 250g and 500g sizes.

Rehab: A first rate deep cleanser with strengthening, conditioning and retexturising properties that also promotes a healthy scalp. Leaves hair shiny, bouncy and soft enough to run your fingers through. A vitamin and enzyme rich shampoo made with Lush's unique and wonderfully potent blend of the fresh organic juices of papaya, pineapple and kiwi that digest dirt and excess sebum without causing the hair stress. Fresh tropical mango has multiple nutrients that are extremely beneficial for hair. Lush has added a careful balance of gently emollient and light vegetable oils of jojoba, olive and almond to help strengthen, repair any damage and give shine, at the same time conditioning the scalp. The blend of essential oils of rose (rich in vitamin E), rosemary, lavender, juniper berry and peppermint help stimulate, yet calm and balance the scalp. This shampoo contains a carefully balanced blend of fresh organic fruit juices of papaya, pineapple and kiwi which dissolve any grease, grime and dead surface skin cells, or styling product residue, leaving hair thoroughly cleansed and full of healthy shine. Fresh tropical mango, which makes up Lush's unique shampoo formulations for greasy hair types, has exceptional benefits. Big: Deep cleansing, Big creates masses of volume and texture. An excellent pre styling shampoo that leaves the hair soft and full of body. Lush has added a massive 50% of sea salt crystals to counteract the effects of soft water, literally pumping up the volume. Expertly formulated with an infusion of whole fresh lemon to cleanse, degrease and give the best shine, together with seaweed infusion which is packed with minerals and trace elements to help condition and soften the hair and give it body. Lush uses fresh seaweed, shipped weekly from the West of Scotland, for its high vitamin and mineral content. Big has a big burst of sunny uplifting essential oils of mandarin, neroli, vanilla to calm and encourage the circulation and orris, which has a violet like scent and at £26,000 per kilo is Lush's most expensive ingredient. Daddy-O: Deep cleanses and deep conditions grey hair, giving shine and volume. It also helps to eliminate yellow tones in this hair type. Whole fresh chopped lemon has a strong cleansing action and boosts shine, toothed wrack seaweed infusion softens and is packed with minerals and trace elements to help condition. The formula also contains fresh lime juice to degrease the hair, fresh Scottish seawater with 3% sea salt to give volume and organic coconut oil to help soften and increase tensile strength. Curly Wurly: Curly Wurly makes thick, unruly curls behave. It's packed full of nutritious creamed coconut and coconut oil, moisturising vanilla, softening eggs and avocado butter to give moisture back to hair and eliminate frizz. Curly Wurly helps get flyaway hair under control again, using a rich blend of cocoa and shea butters to soften and nourish. Vanilla absolute adds a sweet scent to a formulation. It makes the hair smell like real vanilla pods and also adds moisture.

Liquid Conditioners: Apply an amount the size of 20c piece to freshly shampooed hair, gently comb through in the direction of growth. Leave for 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with clean water.

American Cream: A calming, high shine formulation that softens and revitalises the hair. Contains honey water, which not only moisturises the hair but helps to reduce static; lanolin to coat and protect each strand, and fresh whole oranges and strawberries which give shine. It's made like a milk shake where fresh fruits and vanilla are mashed into the blend. Calming, sweet smelling vanilla absolute and a lingering blend of clary sage, cleansing balancing lavender and benzoin.

Retread: Conditions and moisturises the hair, leaving it shiny, full of bounce and deliciously perfumed. The protein rich formulation includes soya milk, a rich source of essential minerals and amino acids, and yoghurt to help rehydrate and soften. Olive, avocado and jojoba oils are very fine - they give softness and shine and help build tensile strength. The formula combines agar seaweed, which forms a rich softening gel to make hair easier to comb through. Lush has also added fresh melon, which is a rehydrating, highly mineralised juice excellent for dry, starved hair. Exceptionally fragranced with sunny, clean essential oils of neroli, orange flower, violet leaf and synthetic musk.

Veganese: The majority of Lush products are vegan, but making a vegan conditioner without lanolin took us a few years. Absolutely refusing to be beaten, Helen Ambrosen, Product Inventor, finally found a formula that reached her high standards. The result was Veganese, a conditioner that leaves hair beautifully soft and shining. Veganese contains Agar Agar seaweed gel which is really softening and conditions the hair follicles. The lavender and rosemary in Veganese care for scalps, while the lemon gives great shine. Vegans and everyone with fine hair should choose this one and stick with it.

Treatments
Scalps sometimes need a helping hand to get back to health. With that in mind, we created some fantastic products for scalps and follicles; we have hair treatments for poorly heads, brightening treatments for blondes and god-like hair moisturisers to nourish dry, frizzy hair. To use: Take a big scoop of hair treatment and apply all over to dry, unwashed hair, relax for 20 minutes, wash out hair and shampoo as normal for shiny, nourished tresses.

Marilyn: an iconic bomb-shell of a treatment! Marilyn will, with the aid of lemon juice, revitalise, brighten and help to enhance the hair's natural (or un-natural!) highlights. It also contains chamomile, saffron and olive oil to condition and strengthen the hair, leaving it silky and manageable. So why not apply in the morning, pin your hair up and get down the beach and let Marilyn work its magic.

H'Suan Wen Hua: the original, and some may say the best, pre-wash conditioner for all hair types. Referred to as the 'God of Hair' by Lush fans, the ingredients look more like a shopping list. H'Suan Wen Hua feeds the hair with eggs, bananas, avocado and olive oil then seasons it with rosemary, bay and balsamic vinegar. And like everything else, your hair is always much happier when fed!

Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Eaze: Jasmine scented, supremely calming hair moisturiser. This does exactly what it says on the tub, it eases hair that normally goes fluffy and uncontrollable after shampooing. Made with henna for brilliant shine, but not enough to change the colour so blondes and greys can use it too. Made with lots of emollient oils, such as almond oil, jojoba oil, Brazil nut oil, hemp oil and wheatgerm oil - all of which were especially chosen to calm fluffiness, add shine and to control the ends of the hair. There's also olive oil, which gives added shine and acts as a great tonic for the scalp. A great detangler, the effects last long after use; it stops static and prevents tangles from forming and the scent of jasmine lingers on the hair for days!

Hair Doctor: The doctor is in for problematic scalps. Cleansing, stimulating, reviving hair moisturiser for mending poorly heads. Hair Doctor will make house calls to inspire sad scalps and revive hair in need of help. There's fuller's earth, which degreases your hair and scalp, stimulating peppermint and rosemary, and chamomile to soothe sore skin. Peppermint oil stimulates the scalp in combination with rosemary, and the extra virgin grade oil brings moisture back to the hair and scalp. Handmade fresh each week and must be kept refrigerated.

R&B: Revive and balance misbehaving hair. Enjoy some smooth R&B stylings. The tropical butters and candelilla wax will help to moisturise and control frizzy, flyaway hair, but this works to soothe dry scalps, too, with calming oat milk. And once you smell the orange blossom,your hair will well and truly find its own rhythm. Three of our shop managers came up with this one to moisturise their wayward follicles. It works well with black or curly hair because it conditions with a lot of moisture. Jojoba is a cold-pressed liquid wax. It is similar to the oil our skin products naturally and has an affinity with hair and skin and an infusion of bay leaves stimulates, tones and works wonders on dry hair. Snake Oil: An effective treatment for flaky scalps. Snake Oil treats dandruff and it smells like it means business. Melt it on to your fingertips, then massage it right into your scalp. Leave the lavender, tea tree and peppermint oils to do their work for twenty minutes or so, and then wash it off with Soak and Float shampoo. Peppermint has a strong, refreshing, mint aroma with underlying herbal notes. It cools and invigorates. Tea tree is a powerful antibacterial oil that kills off the microbes that cause dandruff and flaking. Use it to nurse your scalp back into shape.

The Big Tease: The Big Tease is Lush's strongest hold hair gel. It allows you to tease the biggest, most outrageous styles you can imagine. It has the same mandarin fragrance as our Olive Branch shower gel, so your hair will smell like the Mediterranean, too.

Henna Hair Dye: Lush use the finest Persian henna, which has been used since ancient times to dye the skin and hair. The leaves are dried and ground into a powder and it is this, mixed with conditioning cocoa butter, which forms the basis of our Cacas. As well as having its own conditioning benefits, the cocoa butter we use helps the henna cling to each hair, maximising its effect. That's one of the things that makes our henna so much better than anybody else's. Because henna coats each individual hair, smoothing the cuticles and protecting it from damage, it is the ultimate conditioning treatment. Hennaed hair is strong, glossy and absolutely gorgeous.

Caca Brun: dull browns will transform into gleaming brunettes. Made with a mixture of red and indigo hennas, we've added in a coffee infusion for even more voltage and nettles too for endless shine and to keep your scalp in tip top condition.

Caca Rouge: Blondes or those with a lot of grey can expect to see a vibrant head of titian hair after using Caca Rouge, while brunettes will get a gorgeous warm red tinge that catches in the sun.
