Local Childcare Sydney

Local Childcare Sydney
Free resource for Sydney Parents

Finding child care is always stressful, no matter what your circumstances. So, any way to make this daunting task a bit easier is very welcome -especially if it's free.

www.localchildcare.com.au allows parents to look a detailed directory of child care services by age, suburb, name and care type with a click of a mouse.

And while some media reports suggest childcare placements are as rare as hens teeth Local Child Care founder Donna James disagrees. "There are vacancies out there and finding them doesn't need to become a struggle," says Donna. "While you may not meet your exact requirements straight away, there are certainly plenty of options to mix and match ensuring your child care needs are met."

Donna launched www.localchildcare.com.au in 2006 after realising there was no single resource containing all the local child care information parents needed. " It's busy enough just being a mum taking care of three young children without adding the extra hassle of traipsing the whole family to every childcare facility in town," says Donna.

Since then Local Child Care has helped thousands of local parents choose the right child care and as its client base developed so did the information services available. "While it started as directory it now offers information on choosing the right centre for you, local events, new centres opening and most importantly current vacancies.

Wanting to be prepared Padstow mum, Sue Davey, used the service when she found out she was expecting her first baby. "I am fairly new to the area and had no idea what was on offer," says Sue. "The website was so information and had useful links to facilities in our area. I am now on the waiting list for my top choices."

Donna insists Sue is not the only mum in that situation and truly believes she can help. "All of the services listed on my site give me up-to-the-minute details of new vacancies and these are sent out to all of the families subscribed to my free e-newsletter. Parents will be packing lunchboxes and kissing their children goodbye, with peace of mind, in no time."
