Romantic synth soul duo Kllo heads back to Australia from a run of shows in the U.S. to play a very special one-off show in Melbourne. Kllo, with a newly formed live band, will showcase their fusion of warm R&B vocals and electro-pop for an exciting debut performance in Elisabeth Murdoch Hall.
A collaboration between Melbourne cousins Chloe Kaul and Simon Lam, Kllo first emerged in 2014 with a sound beyond their years, fusing elements of electro-pop, R&B, U.K. garage and two-step with modern sensibilities and wide-eyed sincerity.
The duo's latest offering, -Potential', a tale of unrequited love is summed up in a review by Pitchfork – -Kaul's lush voice over a downtempo piano ballad as she details a failed romance that was once alive with possibility.'
The duo's first two EPs, Cusp and Well Worn, have amassed millions of streams, making them a fixture on festival stages across Australia (Bigsound, Splendour in the Grass) and Europe (Great Escape, Primavera Sound). In 2017 Kllo released full-length debut, Backwater, a refined, coming- of-age account. The album depicts inner adjustment to outer change: being far from home, treading through uncharted territory while yearning for the comforts of the familiar.
Don't miss Kllo's mix of smooth electro-pop beats and mellow R&B vocals in the intimacy of Elisabeth Murdoch Hall this June.
