The History of Floaties™
In 1964 Mr Klaus Maertin experienced the horror that all parents fear. His son Philip nearly drowned while playing at the beach with his Dad.

Little did Klaus know that this one incident would help save the lives of millions of children.

Klaus used his engineering background, designing and manufacturing the first inflatable armband from which the Floaties™ brand was born.

Forty years later Floaties™ products continue to help keep children safe in and around water. Klaus has passed his knowledge and ingenuity onto his son Philip, who has now added his own vision to Floaties™ with an extended range of swimming aids.

Philip, a Dad to three young children, strongly believes that no child should drown. Through education and raising awareness of water safety, drowning can be prevented.

Drawing on experience gained from his own family, Philip believes that using Floaties™ products not only keeps a child's head above water, but builds confidence so the child can learn to swim at an earlier age. Floaties™ are also invaluable with young children who can so quickly get into trouble in and around water. They give the child a chance to call for help rather than slipping silently below the water.

Using 20 years of experience in manufacturing Floaties™ products, Philip has redesigned and improved the original Floaties™ armbands. Enhancements have been made to the material and shape of the product, with added comfort by manufacturing the seams on the inside, thus preventing any irritation to the user.

With safety always Philip's main concern, the addition of twin chamber inflation and valves that would not leak even when the stop plug is incorrectly fitted ensure greater safety.

The new and improved Floaties products, part of an extended range that includes kickboards, swim rings, swim seats, swim best, back floats and bubble, for all ages and stages of the learning-to-swim process, are not only the most comfortable, but safest swimming aids on the market today!
