Jason Byrne Wrecked But Ready

Jason Byrne Wrecked But Ready

Highly-acclaimed Irish comedian, Jason Byrne is heading back to Australia in 2020, bringing his trademark energy and fast-thinking improv along for the ride.

The master of audience mockery, Byrne returns with his brand-new show, Wrecked But Ready, his first show here since 2018. Opening his national tour at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in March, Jason will then take the show to the 2020 Perth and Sydney Comedy Festivals in late April.

After 23 consecutive years Jason Byrne is wrecked... but he is as ever ready (which is a battery, but he's more Duracell than Eveready). The past year, in particular, has been extremely testing for the wrecked Jason. From a marriage breakdown to several existential crises, Byrne takes audiences along on a mayhemic journey to find chaotic, inner peace.

Byrne is a best-seller at comedy festivals around the world and is still the biggest selling comedian at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His unpredictable antics continue to keep audiences on their toes with lightning speed wit and an endless bag of stunts.

Byrne's sell-out shows both here and overseas have attracted multiple accolades over the years, including nominations for the highly-coveted Edinburgh Fringe Perrier Newcomer Award, and the Perrier Award. In addition to extensive worldwide touring - New York, Boston, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brussels, Milan, Paris and Australia at last count - Byrne's TV and radio credits are immeasurable. He's appeared as a host on Dave channel's, Don't Say It, Bring It, a judge on RTE's Ireland's Got Talent (S1 & S2), hosted Jason Byrne's Snaptastic Show for TV3, and co-hosted Sky 1's Wild Things. Jason is a household name across Ireland and the UK, featuring regularly on Live at the Apollo (BBC1), The Royal Variety Show (ITV1), The John Bishop Show (BBC1), Father Figure (BBC1), which he created and starred in, Just a Minute (BBC Radio 4), and the award- winning self-titled The Jason Byrne Show on BBC Radio 2.

When he's in Australia, Jason is an annual hit on ABC TV's fundraising Melbourne International Comedy Festival Oxfam Gala, The Great Debate, and Ten's The Project, and his audience grows each year. He's also found time to pen two books, Adventures of a Wonky-Eyed Boy: The Short-Arse Years and The Adventures of Onion O'Brien: The Great Ape Escape.

Jason Byrne is live comedy royalty - don't miss his exceptionally welcome return in 2020.
