Hit Tara Moss

Tara Moss, Australia's dark child of crime fiction, is back with the latest installment in the Makedde Vanderwall series.

Moss's obsession with all things sinister dates back to her childhood, when she began penning gruesome 'Stephen King-inspired' stories for her classmates when she was only 10. Rather than just writing about her characters, Tara Moss lives them - she has 2 snakes, including her 7 foot diamond python 'Gomez' and her baby black-headed python, 'Thing', dreams up new plot points while riding her motorbike; has researched at the FBI Academy at Quantico; and has spent time in squad cars, the morgue, prisons, the Hare Psychopathy Lab, the Supreme Court and criminology conferences world-wide.

She has also taken polygraph tests; shot weapons; conducted surveillance with private investigators; passed the Firearms Training Simulator (FATSII) with the LAPD; pulled 4.2 G's doing loops over the Sydney Opera House flying with the RAAF Roulettes; acquired her CAMS race driver licence and is currently in the process of getting her private investigator's licence.

In 1998, Tara Moss won the Scarlet Stiletto Young Writers Award for her story, 'Psycho Magnet'. Tara Moss started writing her successful debut novel, 'Fetish' when she was just 23. Her bestselling crime novels are published in ten countries worldwide in six languages, and have been nominated for both the Davitt Award and the Ned Kelly; two of Australia's most prestigious honours.

Tara Moss also currently hosts the crime documentary series 'Tara Moss Investigates' on the National Geographic Channel in the UK, Italy, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Netherlands, Denmark, Romania, Australia and New Zealand. She is currently filming her next series, 'Tara Moss Investigates: Outbreak'.
