GRAMPIANS GRAPE ESCAPE RETURNS BIGGER AND BETTER AFTER TWO YEAR HIATUS

The iconic wine, food and music festival, Grampians Grape Escape, is returning with a bang this year after a 2-year hiatus, offering a long weekend of world-class wines, gourmet food and live music nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Mount William.

A non-for-profit festival, Grampians Grape Escape has spotlighted the region's producers and makers for the best part of 30 years and this year will welcome visitors for an extended celebration over 3 days from Friday 29th April to Sunday 1st May. After a difficult 2 years, it's a perfect opportunity to support over 100 exhibitors from Western Victoria and celebrate the return of live music.

Kicking off with the festival's first ever Feel-Good Friday, visitors can start the weekend with an afternoon snack from a selection of food trucks, enjoy a local drop from the bar and dust off those dancing shoes with sets from Purple Revolution, Andrew De Silva's beloved Prince tribute band and Mixtape's 80s covers.

Saturday and Sunday will be a foodie's playground with a mouth-watering array of stalls serving up everything from mouth-watering burgers, flavour packed Spanish paella and festival favourite pizza. Cooking demonstrations from guest chefs Geoff Jansz and Emmylou MacCarthy will showcase local produce from the region, while culinary masterclasses from expert exhibitors covering everything from insect hotels, bread making and fishing adventures aim to inspire attendees to whip up their own gourmet feasts at home.

Masterclass and demonstration highlights from this year's program include, but are certainly not limited to:

  • FEEL-GOOD FRIDAY (Friday) Live music, food truck and a festival run bar
  • GEOFF JANSZ (Saturday & Sunday) Cooking demonstration with Sri Lankan born chef and TV presenter and co-presenting with James Mele from The Meat Room demonstrating how to make salamis from pork raised in the Grampians, as well as Geoff's signature pickles and preserves to compliment the salami.
  • PETER EVERETT (Saturday & Sunday) Ready Steady Cook challenge MC'd by the iconic TV host himself
  • PETER HILCKE (Sunday only) internationally acclaimed seafood Chef – presenting with Jason Meehan about inland fish species available in the Grampians followed by a portable cooking segment by Peter.
  • EMMYLOU MACCARTHY (Saturday & Sunday) Cooking demonstration with social media powerhouse, presenter and cookbook author
  • FROM RAISING PIGS TO RISING DOUGH with Great Western Granary

  • BARRIQUE AUCTION (Saturday) a highlight of the festival since 1992 – a collection of local winemakers join forces to create a unique blend with the region's finest grapes. Proceeds go towards promoting the Grampians Wine Region.
  • TASTINGS (Saturday & Sunday) Tasting Ticket holders can try a selection of the hundreds of wines, beers and ciders on offer, and then cloak their purchases at the Wine Store while they enjoy everything the festival has to offer

For those that need to entertain the littlies, there's plenty of activities to keep them going including little adventurers' marquee, stop and play stations, and a rock-climbing wall on the Sunday.
