DragExpo 2020

DragExpo 2020

ITDEVENTS, the LGBTQI+ production powerhouse behind Drag Race Tours in Australia, NZ & Asia, as well as its brand new event DragExpo 2020, has partnered with Deliveroo, the global food delivery platform, who will serve as the PRINCIPAL PARTNER of this year's inaugural Drag Expo event.

Deliveroo will help deliver DragExpo and ensure the event slays for over 10,000 visitors in August 2020 - the first of its kind and scale in Australasia. Hallelu!

"We have been passionately involved with the Drag scene for a number of years and love the artistry, colour, positive message and fun that it brings to our country. This is our first ever Drag Expo and it is already shaping up to be an epic, super flamboyant, jam-packed event. We're absolutely thrilled to partner with Deliveroo, who have long been a champion of inclusivity, for our inaugural DragExpo as another extension of our social imprint to truly shine a light on our colourful world," said Stephen Craddock, Director of ITDEVENTS.

Head of Marketing for Deliveroo, Jeremy Brook, said about their partnership, "We are excited to be involved with the first ever Australian Drag Expo - we're dusting off our reading glasses already! At Deliveroo, we have a strong history and relationship with the LGBTQIA+ communities across the world, supporting various LGBTQIA + charities and we even changed our name for London Pride. So we couldn't resist the idea of being involved with this event. The colour, the community and positive message that drag brings to Australia is something that we think is very important and we are very proud to be involved with. We absolutely share the view and passion that everyone should be loud and proud about who they are."

Set over two days, DragExpo is the chance for Australian fans to catch up with local and international drag artiste royalty fronted by DragExpo Ambassador, Karen From Finance. Visitors to DragExpo can meet the stars of RuPaul's Drag Race, see Australia's own drag legends and learn their inspiring stories, as well as enjoy a plethora of panels, tutorials, chill-out spaces, fabulous shopping stores, runways with Q&A sessions, meet and greets, official merchandise, a drag market and more.

But it's not all glamour, glitz and glitter, gurl! From technical tucks to mental health, there's no area that won't be plucked and no wig left unturned over the two days. Learn how drag has evolved over the years, how Australia has given drag our own special flavour, and how drag artistes have a message we can all learn from. Most of all, visitors can learn the power that comes from letting you be your real self, with hundreds of like-minded fans on hand to cheer you on. Werk it!

DRAG EXPO will run from 8th & 9th August 2020 at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre (MCEC), with a fabulous Opening Gala on the 7th August with our superstars!

Tickets went on sale in September 2019 with over 3,000 tickets already sold. Booths went on sale in September 2019, with 90 exhibitors already confirmed.
