All David Jones stores will be brightened for the festive season with wonderful Christmas décor. Illuminated trees will be decorated with a warm colour palette of plum, cherry, raspberry, ice pink and silver in the David Jones signature spiral application.
The gift of joy
A Nativity scene consisting of traditionally sculpted figures of Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus and the Three Wise Men set against a starry night backdrop will again be featured in the window of our Elizabeth Street and Bourke street stores, with the message 'The Gift Of Joy'.
The gift of unity
Help bring the spirit of Christmas to life with family and friends at Santa's grand arrival on Saturday November 11 at 11.30am. The concert will feature performances from the much loved Looney Tunes characters at 11.30am and 12.30pm. Children will have the opportunity to meet Garfield and Odie, Dora the Explorer and the David Jones Christmas Characters - Alfie, Charlotte, Webster, Shimmer and the beautiful Christmas Fairy.
Friends and family will also delight in Christmas cheer as Santa makes his first appearance in the city before making his way to the David Jones Bourke Street Mall Magic Cave in the Men's Store to take up residence before Christmas.
The gift of magic
Before Santa embarks on his official present delivering duties he will take up residence in the David Jones Bourke Street Magic Cave. Children can visit Santa to have their photos taken as a keepsake of the magical Christmas moment.
Opening on Saturday November 11 from 9.00am the Magic Cave also features fun filled activities for children of all ages including a musical carousel, magic mirrors, lucky dips and the ever favourite David the Talking Tree, a magical tree who delights visitors with his magic ability to talk.
The David Jones Christmas Fairies will be in store handing out letters for children to fill out and post to Santa from the much-loved Magic Cave. Santa will grant one special child in each state their wish through the David Jones 'Grant Your Christmas Wish' competition and every child who writes to Santa will receive a postcard back direct from the North Pole!
For the gift of Christmas - there is no other store!
