The Aussie Custard Apple season is in full swing, with plenty of delicious fruit hitting local stores for us to enjoy. They're in season at the perfect time to sweeten up your winter and they're also packed with vitamin C to give you an immunity boost in this cooler weather!
We recently took mum and vegan foodie Dani Stevens on a tour of a local custard apple farm, inspiring her to make some delicious recipes with the exotic fruit.
Preparation time: 10 mins
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
1 custard apple, peeled and seeded
1 – 2 tsp fresh lime juice
Small handful crushed pistachio nuts
1 can of coconut cream
Method
In a food processor mix all ingredients together until smooth and creamy.
Place mixture in a container and allow to freeze overnight.
Scoop and serve in waffle cones or bowls with sprinkled pistachio nuts.
