Charity Flight to Lord Howe Island

Charity Flight to Lord Howe Island

Since 1992 Port Macquarie Business couple John & Helen Ross, in conjunction with Qantas, have hosted an annual weekend charity flight to exotic locations around the country. This year's Charity Flight is to the World Heritage Listed Lord Howe Island.

100% of the flight's proceeds will be donated to The Lord Howe Island Historical Museum and Ronald McDonald House Charities. To date, John & Helen have raised over $1 million for eight charities.

Lord Howe Island boasts sundrenched beaches, soaring mountains and a crystal clear lagoon boarded by the world's most southern coral reef. Green fields and tracts of bushland rise at the southern end to two towering mountains - their peaks often shrouded in clouds. This natural wonderland is best described as 'a perpetual state of calm'.

The five-day itinerary allows participants the opportunity to take in not only the islands beautiful natural wonders but also many of its historical aspects. Two separate tours have been planned for this year. Tour one leaves from Sydney on Thursday 29 May and returns Monday 2 June whilst tour two departs Port Macquarie on Thursday 12 June and returns Monday 16 June.

The five day package costs just $1750 per person and includes:
  • Accommodation
  • All meals, drinks, entertainment, tours and transfers to the various activities during the 5 days.
  • Return airfare to Lord Howe Island
  • GST Inclusive.

The weekend escape has been custom designed to allow travellers to experience the highlights of the Island but the pace has been slowed to "Lord Howe time" so individual guests can enjoy other features of their choice - from energetic mountain climbs to relaxing by the lagoon or beach.

Booking enquiries can be made to Mandy Miller on (02) 6581 4900. As places on the tours are limited to 30, interested parties are asked to book at their earliest convenience.
