Australians are today being urged to recognise and manage their everyday stress, as a new survey reveals that the pressures associated with social media is a large contributor to high stress levels. The Cenovis Chill pill Survey, which looks at the modern, everyday stress that Australians face, has revealed that 89% of us feel some form of everyday stress in our lives and that almost two in three of us (63%) believe social media is contributing to this.
The online survey of 420 Aussies shows that of those that feel stressed by social media, over one third (37%) feel under pressure to be in constant contact while others (35%) say there is an expectation to respond as quickly as possible to what is going on. Over one in ten (13%) feel stressed trying to be interesting or witty when it comes to writing status updates.
However, if you feel that you cannot live without your regular dose of social media, then there are ways in which you can help relieve your everyday stress levels without closing down your Facebook or Twitter accounts.
Gerald Quigley, Pharmacist and Accredited Herbalist, believes that everyday stress can affect all of us and it is important to take steps to manage it, such as making changes to your lifestyle and including the use of a natural supplement.
"We need to understand that life can get busy and stressful but we don't have to just put up with it. There are some simple methods for dealing with everyday stress, such as increasing exercise, taking time out, improving diet and even adding a natural supplement like the Cenovis Chill pill, which could help you to unwind and cope during times of stress," said Mr Quigley.
Stress can have a range of physical and emotional effects on an individual that lead to anxiety, nervousness and tension. It can also affect sleeping patterns leaving us tired and mentally fatigued, which can result in lower concentration and decreased performance at work, in school or university and around the home.
Olivia Chan from Melbourne, who balances being a wife and mother of two children with running her two companies, can find herself feeling overwhelmed and stressed with the daily demands of work and family.
