Buddhism for Mothers of Schoolchildren

"Her purpose is not to convert you to a new religion but to teach you how to include Buddhist teachings and principles in your own mothering experience'- Perth Woman.

Warm, wise and engaging, Buddhism for Mothers of Schoolchildren is the latest book by Sarah Napthali. Her first two books, Buddhism for Mothers and Buddhism for Mothers with Lingering Questions (reissued as Buddhism for Mothers of Young Children) concentrated on the experiences of mother with babies, toddlers and young children. However, with her children at school, a mother enters a new phase in her life, playing a new role which is radically different experience from tending the under-fives.

Buddhism for Mothers of Schoolchildren shows mothers how to deal with the changing daily challenges in the chaos of school years using the invaluable Buddhist teachings of mindfulness, compassion and calm. Sarah Napthali explores these Buddhist teachings through a full range of situations that arise in this new phase of motherhood such as homework supervision, socialising with other mothers, answering tricky questions and dealing with difficult behaviour in both children and adults.

Written in an accessible and inclusive style, Buddhism for Mothers of Schoolchildren is a mindful approach to parenting that helps mothers make the experience of parenting schoolchildren meaningful and spiritual.
