Blak Markets at Bare Island

Blak Markets at Bare Island

Join Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artisans at the iconic Blak Markets at Bare Island La Parouse Sunday on September 30 from 9:30am to 4pm.

The Blak Markets are a great chance to buy authentic unique gifts knowing that 100% of the profits go back into Aboriginal communities. The Blak Markets feature authentic, original and affordable Aboriginal artworks,  beauty products and one-of-a-kind homewares and jewellery as well as Indigenous inspired food and refreshments.

Arts and Craft have always been a focus at the Blak Markets and this time we will have Karleen Green doing a free weaving workshop.

Bush tucker is an integral part of the Blak Market experience and this market is no exception with our Gourmet Bushfood Sausages which includes Kangaroo, Emu, Crocodile and Wild Boar or try out Kangaroo Burger with Native Peppers with a cooking demonstration talking about some of the great ways you can use bushfood herbs to spice up your cooking.

Entertainment for the day includes cultural dance and performances. Entry is $2.50 with children under 5 free.

This Blak Markets has been sponsored by Randwick City Council and it takes place at Bare Island within the Kamay-Botany Bay National Park with the support of the NSW Parks and Wildlife Service.
