Mia Hewitt Shares Her Favourite Sandwich Recipe, Perfect for School Lunches
Ever wondered the secret to healthy lunch-boxes coming home empty? To give us a clue, Mia Hewitt, 10, daughter of Bec and Lleyton Hewitt, has shared her favourite sandwich recipe.
Guaranteed to result in smiles and full tummies that will last the whole school day, Mia's favourite sandwich combination is cheese, lettuce, pesto and salami, made on the delicious new Wonder Smooth Wholegrain bread. A quick and easy lunch for parents who want to include wholesome choices while also trying to please the fussy eaters who will often reject standard wholegrain bread.
'I love it when I open my lunch-box and Mum has made my favourite sandwich. It tastes great on new Wonder Smooth Wholegrain bread. I actually don't mind wholegrain. But this still looks and tastes like white bread. And because there are no bits, I can't even tell the difference," says Mia.
Mia is a big fan of the new Wonder Smooth Wholegrain. Along with her brother and sister, Mia recently appeared in one of her first brand campaigns for the new wholegrain bread. Full of high fibre goodness, children can enjoy delicious, fluffy and soft sandwiches, while mum can be reassured that even kids who won't normally eat wholegrain bread will love their school lunch.

Question: Why did you decide to let your three children create a video campaign for Wonder Smooth Wholegrain?
Bec Hewitt: It was something the kids wanted to do and I thought it would be a nice opportunity for them. They also really like the Wonder Smooth Wholegrain bread so it was a natural fit.
Question: Were Ava, Cruz and Mia excited to film the video?
Bec Hewitt: Yes, the kids were so excited! They loved filming the video, it was really nice for them to have a project that was just for them.
Question: What was it like being on set, when they filmed the video?
Bec Hewitt: It did bring back some memories for me and it was exciting to see them getting involved and enjoying being on set. It was also filmed at Melbourne Park which they are quite familiar with from Lleyton's tennis days.
Question: Which of your three kids, Ava, Cruz and Mia enjoyed the video process, the most?
Bec Hewitt: They all did such a good job and are all quite natural in front of the camera actually! Mia's a natural performer, Ava's so young but she did such a good job and Cruz surprisingly loved the filming.
Question: Does Ava, Cruz or Mia play tennis, regularly?
Bec Hewitt: Cruz plays regularly, the girls are more into dancing, fashion and music but Cruz loves his sport.
Question: What do you and the family like about the Wonder Smooth Wholegrain?
Bec Hewitt: The kids love that it has no bits in it. It's great that the wholegrains are ground smooth and invisible. Ava and Cruz in particular love their white bread so this is a great way to get them to make sure they have wholegrains in their diet while still letting them eat the bread they like.
Question: How do you like to eat Wonder Smooth Wholegrain?
Bec Hewitt: Cruz loves his ham and cheese, Mia loves salami, lettuce and cheese and Ava loves pulled chicken, mayo and cheese. They eat them for school lunches but also before and after their activities – dancing, football and tennis practice.
Question: What's a typical day like, for you, as a Mum?
Bec Hewitt: I'm very much a hands on mum and most of my day is spent doing the school drop off and pick up, making lunches, afterschool activities, dinner and helping with homework. I also take our dog Bux for a walk every day.
