After causing a mass swoon with his romantic stylings in -The Streets' Allan Smithy, the solo venture of Matt Amery (Tin Sparrow), is back to break hearts with his video for the debut track accompanied by a string of shows in Melbourne and Sydney, which includes a support slot for I Know Leopard at Goodgod Small Club in Sydney. Subsequently making his way down to Melbourne to perform at The Gasometer, Allan Smithy is set to bring the breezy summer vibes with his brand new material.
The video features star-crossed lovers of a different kind. Reminding us that love can blossom at any age (and cheekiness isn't just confined to the young), the beautifully shot video muses upon the possibilities amongst the streets beloved by Smithy. If you needed any other reason to leave your knitting needles at the door and frolic in the afternoon sun, this would be it. Watch the clip.
Mixed by Sydney's Liam Judson (Cloud Control, The Laurels) and featuring the full-bodied harmonies of Jo Syme (Big Scary), -The Streets' is a creative culmination by the crème de la crème of home grown talent. Allan Smithy believes that the ultimate way to come up with a new song is to keep things simple; take the dog for a walk, get a coffee and let the inspiration flow. When Allan found himself chasing his runaway dog through the Inner Western suburbs of Sydney, the summer-drenched tune -The Streets' came into fruition.
