Share the Dignity #Yoga4Dignity

Share the Dignity is calling on yoga teachers across Australia to help facilitate the inaugural #Yoga4Dignity event on 2 September 2017.

The goal of the charity is to have 48,000 people simultaneously participate in a one-hour yoga class across Australia representing the same number of women currently homeless.

Yoga teachers simply need to register to host an event at www.sharethedignity.com.au. They will be sent a pack of information and promotional material to raise awareness of their yoga class. Participants will be able to purchase tickets to each event for $20, will all proceeds going towards grassroots initiatives run by the charity.

Share the Dignity was created to assist those women with basic sanitary items that are otherwise too expensive to access.  Today, the charity supports homeless and at risk women and children in a range of initiatives including making sanitary items accessible to homeless and low socioeconomic girls and women, empowering children who are victims of domestic violence through sporting initiatives, lobbying for better protection of women and domestic violence victims and tragically assisting families impacted by domestic violence murders with financial assistance to cover funeral costs.

Share the Dignity founder, Rochelle Courtney commented on the charity and its inaugural yoga event: 'Our mission is to enable and empower all Australian women and children to have the dignity they deserve.

'With so many charity fun runs in place, we feel that yoga is a more inclusive activity that aligns with our themes of empowerment, support and wellbeing.

'Your participation in hosting a yoga class is an easy way in which you can make a big difference to women and children in your communities."
