Australian children participate in global art initiative in support of Save the Children.

Calling on all teachers and parents register now and help students and children to make this event successful. World Kids Colouring Day could change the life of a Colombian child forever and teach children about a very different world.

STAEDTLER, the manufacturer of writing instruments, has united globally to support the international child rights organisation Save the Children through this special promotional day. In this colouring campaign, Australian children (and children the world over) are invited to colour and raise money for their beautiful artworks, to help other children in need.

STAEDTLER is calling upon all teachers, educators and parents to get involved and organise their own colouring events at school, kindergarten and home. Ideas include; a colouring day or colouring workshop, or a colouring event in which the artworks are exhibited and/or auctioned, the possibilities for creativity are unlimited. Further information, suggestion, fundraising ideas can be found at: www.world-kids-colouring-day.com.au. On this website, schools and organisations are able to register to support World Kids Colouring Day, and receive a starter kit to inspire their colouring activities. There is even a beautiful 10 piece educational mural puzzle for the classroom wall of a Colombian scene. Also available are teaching resources and information to plan lessons and educate children about life in Colombia.

As the worlds largest independent child rights organisation, Save the Children works in over 100 countries, including Australia. With the donations collected from World Kids Colouring Day, STAEDTLER will support Save the Childrens “Rewrite the Future” program which focuses on securing quality education for the millions of children out of school due to war and armed conflict in Colombia. STAEDTLER will support Save the Children to develop learning programs for children, train teachers as well as provide adequate teaching and learning materials.

The universal language of pictures is understood the world over and unites children on all continents. Colouring is an important form of expression, especially for small children still discovering their world. World Kids Colouring Day needs the support of adults to help co-ordinate the fundraising events and to help children understand how their contribution can change the world of a child less fortunate.

STAEDTLER will recognise those children and schools who have organised the most creative campaigns, those with the highest donation and those with donations totalling more than $500 (Donation Champions) with great colouring sets.
