Don McCullin: The ImpossiblePeace

Over five decades, legendary photojournalist Don McCullin has captured some of the most remarkable photographic images of the 20th century. His momentous impact on photography will be showcased in this free exhibition of over 150 war photographs and landscapes, on show in Australia for the first time and exclusive to the State Library of NSW.

Keynote lecture: Curator Robert Pledge
To celebrate the opening weekend of Don McCullin: The Impossible Peace, join Robert Pledge for this very special keynote lecture where he will discuss McCullin's genius and momentous impact on photography over the past 50 years. Robert Pledge is the co-founder and president of Contact Press Images.

Kids @ the Library holiday program, 22 – 28 September
Awesome school holiday activities for the whole family. Kids and parents alike will love the epic night adventure Up late at the Library and the -discovery tour' of the historic Mitchell Library, in search of the weird, wacky and wonderful! Kids can turn their visit to the Library into a piece of take-home art, go on a treasure trail and create photomontages inspired by a trip to the Botanic Gardens. Plus, there's storytime and art activities and a free screening of The new adventures of Pippi Longstocking.
