Heart disease is the single leading cause of death in Australia, affecting two out of three families and killing four times more women than breast cancer. Heart Research Australia is calling all Australians to show their support for heart research by Wearing Red on February 26 and getting behind their REDFEB campaign.
'We are calling on all Australians to join our RED ARMY and help us beat Australia's Number 1 killer – heart disease, by wearing RED on February 26 to help us raise vital life-saving funds. Whether you choose to wear something red, paint the town red or turn your office red – it's all in support of raising awareness of heart disease", says Michelle Kearney, Communications Manager Heart Research Australia.
'As the type of first-stage innovative research we fund does not qualify for Government funding, we are 100% reliant on the generosity and support from the private and corporate sectors to help us continue to support our researchers on their quest to discover new ways of creating more survivors."
