What did you want to be when you were growing up?

Vet, Golfer, Advertising, Lawyer, Fashion

How did you get to where you are today?

To become a lawyer I got my law degree then went to Bar school. I left London and travelled the world. Then landed in Sydney where I went to East Sydney Tech to do pattern making and dressmaking.

Have your career expectations changed along the way?

From opening a small shop with no money, I have never looked back. I now own a worldwide business with six stores and supply wholesale to forty outlets.

What is a fun aspect of your job?

Designing the clothes, coming up with concepts, thinking and creating.

What is the worst aspect of your job?

Running the day to day business with all its pitfalls.

What is the best advice given to you?

There's no such thing as a free lunch.

Can you name anyone in particular who has played an integral role along the road to your success?

My best friend Jean Ferraud, who works with me as PR and is my sounding board.

Have you ever had a mentor or still have one now?

No not really.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years I would like to have stabilised my business with retail and brand expansion at a balance and stage to my liking.

What is your ultimate dream?

To design and do nothing else except spend time with my family.
