You better know the truth of wrong from right because Stan today released the trailer for Walker, the highly anticipated reimagining of the iconic Walker, Texas Ranger series, that will see Supernatural's Jared Padalecki star as Texas Ranger Cordell Walker. Walker premieres 22 January only on Stan, same day as the U.S. – with new episodes weekly.
Starring in the iconic role made famous by martial arts legend Chuck Norris, Padalecki leads the way as a widower and father of two with his own moral code, who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there's harder work to be done at home. As Walker attempts to reconnect with his children, navigate clashes with his family, and find unexpected common ground with his new partner (one of the first women in Texas Rangers' history), he begins to grow increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife's death.
The cast also includes Keegan Allen (Pretty Little Liars) as Walker's younger brother Liam, a conservative gay man who has just been promoted to Assistant District Attorney. Meanwhile, Lindsey Morgan (The 100) is Walker's new partner Micki, and Coby Bell (The Gifted) is Captain Larry James, the lone African American in the Texas Rangers' Austin headquarters. Mitch Pileggi " who recurred as Sam and Dean's maternal grandfather on Supernatural " will take on the role of Walker's conservative, tough-as-nails father Bonham. Additionally, Padalecki's real-life wife Genevieve Padalecki (Supernatural, Wildfire) recurs as Walker's late spouse, who appears via flashbacks, and Matt Barr (Valor, Hellcats) will play as Walker's best friend Hoyt.
Written and executive produced by Anna Fricke (Wayward Pines, Being Human), the series is also executive produced by Dan Lin (Lethal Weapon TV Series) and Lindsey Liberatore for Rideback, alongside Jared Padalecki. The premiere episode will be directed by Oscar winner Jessica Yu (Billions).
