Thousands of Santas of all shapes and sizes will spread the spirit of Christmas when Variety – the Children's Charity hosts the 7th annual Santa Fun Run on Sunday 6th December.
More than 5,000 people are expected to don the jolly red suit and stroll or run the 5km accessible course, starting at First Fleet Park next to the MCA, then following a scenic route around Sydney Harbour's stunning foreshore all in a bid to raise $250,000 to help children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.
Variety – the Children's Charity are calling on people to rally their workmates, friends, families and sports groups to form teams and get into the spirit of giving this Christmas by dressing as a -Claus for a cause' and raising money to help kids in need.
There will be lots of festive activities on the day, including a huge group #santasquad selfie, a giant snow dome, snow machines, a Christmas village and a live DJ.
'The Variety Santa Fun Run is always such a hoot! We've got lots of great surprises in store for our Santas this year, so come and join the fun," said Tam Johnston, CEO, Variety – the Children's Charity (NSW).
She added, 'With your support, we will be able to help more children and families in need this Christmas."
Top fundraising Santas will be rewarded with a VIP breakfast at the start line and the top 100 fundraisers will receive a coveted gold bib to ensure they shine on the day.
