Stereotypes about the relationships of out-of-control NFL stars abound. The image of violent, promiscuous party animals - tempted by drugs, booze, and gold-digging groupies - as seen in Oliver Stone's Any Given Sunday - makes it hard to imagine how football wives be anything but hard-as-nails predators.

But they also face the same challenges as other celebrity wives: the scrutiny of life in the public eye, the threat of groupies, and lots of alone time when hubby is on the road.

THS explores the ups and downs of some of the NFL's hottest - and most diverse - wives. They include: Jennifer Walcott (Adam Archuletta), October Gonzalez (Tony Gonzalez), Christy Cooley (Chris Cooley) and Carmen Cousin (Terry Cousin).
