Smart Lemur, a smart travel planning website, has ranked 13 places in Bali that should be in the must-visit list of every tourist.
Bali, an island in Indonesia, has emerged as one of the hottest travel destinations among those who look for the perfect combination of sightseeing, fun, spirituality, water sports and relaxation – it has something for everyone. In Smart Lemur's top list tourists can find a variety of places offering nature, nightlife, yoga, beach bars, temples, surfing and diving.
According to the website, the first five top destinations in Bali are:
1. Ubud
2. Seminyak
3. Kuta beaches
4. Bukit peninsula beaches
5. Uluwatu
First one on the list - Ubud - is Bali's cultural and spiritual centre. Health food restaurants, galleries and boutiques in the city attract authentic experience seekers. It is a destination where tourists go not for sightseeing stricly but to recharge - take a yoga or meditation class, have a massage, indulge a good meal.
Seminyak, which, according to Smart Lemur, is the second best destination in Bali, can be called island's capital of fashion. Streets of Seminyak are lined with designer boutiques and lifestyle outlets. Both loud beach bars and tranquility - perfect for watching sunsets - can be found on the beach.
Smart Lemur lists Kuta beaches - Kerobokan, Canggu and Echo Beach - in the third position of its ranking. The beaches that are 12 km long in total are very popular among surfers, beach and food lovers. Canggu beach offers health food restaurants and waterfront bar-restaurants. Kerokoban is an upscale town, also has some of the best beach restaurants in Bali, while Echo Beach is best known for great surf waves, sunsets and beach cafes to watch the show in the water.
Fourth place in the ranking is dedicated to Bukit peninsula beaches - Padang Padang, Bingin and Balangan. Travelers searching for a perfect place to relax will find white sand, beach bars and will be invited to choose hotels on the sand for their accommodation.
Uluwatu beach, which one of the most famous beaches in Bali, is situated on Bukit Peninsula as well. Ranked fifth on the list, the beach is a place of extreme surfing and scenic views.
The remaining destinations on the list range from best nightlife spots such as Kuta city, to historic places - Pemuteran Bay or Pura Luhur Batukau. Jatiluwih Rice Terraces that come 7th in the ranking are included in UNESCO's World Heritage List.
According to the website, an average budget of $100-220 USD per day will get the tourist a room at a mid-range hotel ($50 - $150 per night), and allow to eat and drink almost anywhere and enjoy daily Spa treatments and other luxuries.
