A girl passing on her horse gets her dad passing in his Ute to help unstick the cow. The Ute gets bogged, the neighbour's tractor and plough get bogged… who will rescue them all now?! Great rhythm and rhyme in a funny story of mayhem, all caused by the placidly chewing cow!

Kathryn Apel is passionate about words, and working with children, which is why the primary teacher writes children's books. Kathryn lives on a family property in Queensland with her cat-atrophic husband, Felix, and their two sons. Mud! Is Kathryn's first picture book. It won the Preschool Picture Book Manuscript category of the inaugural 'CYA Later' children's writing competition in 2006.

Warren Crossett studied Applied Art at Box Hill TAFE, Melbourne and in 1985 he won a state-wide illustration prize. Since completing his studies, he has done graphic design for several advertising companies and has also illustrated twelve educational books. Warren's first picture book, The Sound of the Sea, was shortlisted in the Picture Book category of the 2006 CBCA Awards. Warren lives in Victoria, with his wife and three children.
