The 2016/2017 ski season is fast approaching and its definitely time to look at where to go, where to stay, when to book and where to find the best deals for your luxury ski break. The team of experts at Ultimate Luxury Chalets are here to share some of their insider knowledge that will set you apart this season.
Up-and-coming
The small resort of Tignes les Brevieres is developing at quite a rate but small enough to remain exclusive to those in the know. With the addition of new luxury chalets, the resort is a hidden gem of the French Alps. At an altitude of 1,550m, the traditional village is within the Tignes side of the Espace Killy, and is seeing the development of a new breed of funky chalets such as Rock n Love and Quezac, both the vision of the legendary Guerlain Chicherit, freeride skier and rally driver. Both properties offer exceptional value for money in comparison to its more recognised neighbour, Val d'Isere.
What's new
Just when you think luxury chalets can't get anymore, well, luxury – the new season launches and the next big thing launches. For example, the latest in -boy heaven' will be La Datcha Courchevel and La Datcha Val Thorens, these Russian-owned chalets are equipped with F1 race simulators and golf simulators, for when you need a break from the snow.
Where to go for the best deal
There is a trick to getting the best deal when booking your ski holiday, Andy Castle, founder of Ultimate Luxury Chalets recommends 'looking at lesser known, or slightly less -glamourous' resorts such as Morzine or Les Gets. With stunning chalets at incredibly competitive prices, you will be treated like a king or queen at a fraction of the cost of other resorts." Take a look at Chalet Twenty26 and Ferme de la Corderie for an example of what's on offer.
When to book
At the moment, there are bundles of deals around for Christmas so it's a good time to look at a Christmas getaway with the family – a white Christmas for once! Other dates to consider include January where as we get closer to the dates the operators are keen to fill their chalets for the start of the season. If you can hold your nerve, there are some amazing deals to be had.
This 2016/2017 season sees a host of new chalets on the market, it's an exciting time to be planning your luxury break this winter.
