Carnival Cruise Lines' Carnival Spirit is the newest and largest ship to be home ported in Australia, arriving in October 2012. Spirit will be sailing 8 – 12 day itineraries to New Caledonia, Fiji, Vanuatu and New Zealand. Carnival Cruise Lines is the world's largest cruise line, based out of Miami, Florida. Never before has Carnival based one of their ships outside of US waters, so sending Carnival Spirit to its new home of Sydney Harbour is a huge first for the company. Carnival saw that the fun, spirited nature of their brand was a perfect match for Australian holiday-makers.
