The 5 km Sydney event has been split into two categories - Runners &Walkers to ensure suitability for all fitness levels from competitive runners and sporting groups to school kids and families. You can run it, hop it, skip it or complete the course in baby steps, as long as you do it in a five piece Santa Suit which comes included with the affordable registration fee.

It is hoped that participants will help raise much needed money to help Variety through seeking sponsors from friends and family. Last year the Variety Santa Fun Run raised over $100,000, when over 1500 people took part. It is hoped eventually the number of participants will be beyond 14, 000 to break the world "Santa Run” record, which is currently held by Portugal.
