The Redlands Sticks to Stones

The Redlands are cousins and childhood friends, Samuel Nairn (vocals), Chase Williams (lead guitar) Dean Williams (guitar/piano) and Ottavio Dichiera (bass). Formed in 2019, after years of playing live together around Mildura in north-east Victoria and taking their cues from songwriting giants like Dylan, Cave and Isbell, the trio gate-crashed the local country scene in December 2020 with their barnstorming first single 'Cocaine' - a soaring reflection on the ups and downs of living life fast and loose in a country town.

Since catching the eye of newly launched country label Cheatin' Hearts Records (via Spunk Records) in 2021, three follow-up singles were released, the rollicking 'Falling Down', the bittersweet 'Love Ya' and 'River' the bands homage to growing up and finding love on the mighty Murray. Both 'Falling Down' and 'River' were added to high rotation on ABC Country radio and were premiered on Henry Wagon's 'Tower of Song' program on Double J. The Redlands were quickly added to country and folk festivals, Dashville Skyline and Thirroul Music Festival, while also striking up an Artist Development deal with the Heartsville Studio group, led by Jy Perry Banks.

The Redlands brand of raw Australiana feels both timeless, yet completely contemporary at the same time, and with their debut album 'Sticks to Stones' set for release on 18 February 2022, the Redlands are set to make some serious noise in the local country scene (and beyond) this year.
