The Greek Antipodes Festival is excited to announce that Greek music royalty, Glykeria will light up Lonsdale Street at this years Antipodes Greek Festival on the
evening of Saturday March 21. Glykeria famous not only in her native Greece but around the globe will perform live in an open-air concert for this years Greek Antipodes Festival a free weekend celebrating all things Greek on Saturday March 21 and Sunday March 22.
“Its an exciting time for the revamped Antipodes Festival, not only are we overjoyed to present such a legendary guest for all of Melbourne to enjoy, but we return after a year away once again turning Lonsdale Street into a fun packed Greek village, where the public can enjoy Greek food, arts and entertainment. We have a new enthusiastic artistic team, and are committed to the events” future said Antipodes Festival Chair, Leonidas Vlahakis.
The ever evolving Glykeria will thrill audiences on the main stage on the Saturday evening, and the beautiful Greek-Canadian pop star, Maro Lytra, famous for her role in the Greek music reality television show Fame Story will headline Sunday nights entertainment.
Greeks love their gardens, so those with a green thumb can come and learn simple methods in sustainable gardening and energy saving ideas with special guest Vasili Kanidiadis from Channel 31s Vasilis Garden. Kids can enjoy hours of activities in the large creative arts area and carnival rides, while the parents can relax in the new Greek garden area, where two screens will showcase footage from the two music stages and the stalls around the festival.
