The Grates will rock the Great Hall this Friday 8 July for Friday Nights at NGV.
No strangers to the front of a spotlight, The Grates have spun punk-tinged indie rock from festival stages across Australia to sell-out shows in New York and London. Their visionary style complete with VHS fuzz and homemade costumes provide a stark contrast to the polished and the perfected. They've wowed audiences across the world including SXSW in Austin, Texas; CMJ in New York; NXNE in Toronto, Canada as well as Australian rock calendar staples.
Complementing the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition Degas: A New Vision, Friday Nights at NGV offer after-hours access to the exhibition, live jazz, short talks, Degas-inspired French food, bars, and live music performances by outstanding local and international acts.
Husky (15 July), The Apartments (22 July), Halfway (29 July), Jen Cloher (5 August) and more!
