To mark World Food Day as well as Anti-Poverty Week (11-17 October), Foodbank NSW/ACT will be hosting The Big Breakfast, a fundraiser to tackle the hidden issue of hunger in NSW and the ACT.
The fundraiser will take place at Wynyard Park on Friday 16th October 2015 between 7am and 1:30pm and will help Foodbank raise vital funds and supplies to meet their challenge of producing 100,000 breakfasts.
A small donation will buy a hot breakfast with every $2 donated supplying five healthy, nutritious breakfasts to those in need.
Attending the event is Hon Leslie Williams MP, Minister for Early Childhood Education, Aboriginal Affairs and Assistant Minister for Education.
, healthy eating guru Dr Joanna McMillan, who will be providing nutrition tips, and Foodbank NSW/ACT CEO Gerry Andersen, who will be speaking on the hidden issue of hunger in NSW and the ACT. Over 90,000 people in NSW rely on food relief services each month.
