The Docklands Firelight Festival

Docklands waterfront will come alive this winter with a new festival of art, music, food and firelight.

The Docklands Firelight Festival will feature roving performers, fire breathers, drummers and musicians and will culminate with a nightly fireworks display and the burning of a wooden sculpture on the waterfront.

Firelight Festival Highlights

Solstice Sculptures
Each night one of three wooden sculptures created by Melbourne-based artist Christian Patton − Man, Sun or Bird − will be placed on a barge in Victoria Harbour and set alight.

Nightly fireworks
Each night will culminate with a nightly fireworks display.

Lantern Procession
Led by performers and musicians, festival participants and revellers can carry lanterns on a procession to the waterfront to view the burning of the nightly sculpture.

Firelight Performers
Fireworks Dance Company will present innovative fire artistry in spectacular shows that blend dance, circus, theatrical fireworks and music from around the world.

Live Music
Festival goers will hear jazz from the all-female troupe Chaos Magnet, quirky junkyard blues, Dixieland punk and bluegrass from Lilly and King. and traditional Roma music and Balkan hits from Vardos.
