A new exhibition at the Australian National Maritime Museum will showcase the unique connections that Tasmanian Aboriginal people have with the land and sea and provide an insight into the significance of traditional fibre work practice.
Late Night Exhibition Tour = 13 April 2011
Take part in a special late night tour of tayenebe on Wednesday 13 April from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm and meet two of the tayenebe weavers, Vicki maikutena Matson-Green and Patsy Cameron. Weaving Workshops - 14 April 2011
The museum is also hosting two weaving workshops on Thursday 14 April. From 10 am to 12 noon, and again from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm, Vicki and Patsy will share their knowledge and help participants create their very own woven fibre piece to take home.
