For two days, on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 December, Sydneysiders in Martin Place will be transported onto an Aussie cattle and sheep farm through virtual technology.

A giant screen will dominate Martin Place beaming city folk into a rural setting where they will have a live virtual conversation with a farmer. The famous city location will be transformed into a country scene with the addition of lush native Australian bush and real life cattle and sheep. Farmers will be on-hand to have a chat about cattle and sheep farming, discuss some of the sustainability initiatives happening on farms across the country and to help serve a free barbecue lunch.

The free event is brought to Sydney by Target 100, an initiative by Australian cattle and sheep farmers and the wider Australian beef and lamb industry to deliver more sustainable farming by 2020. The event coincides with the end of 2012 Year of the Farmer.
