TAMMY'S ALWAYS DYING
"Tammy's Always Dying is a richly observed comedy-drama. Amy Jo Johnson's direction is intelligent and restrained." Michael Ordona, The Los Angeles Times
Premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival, boasting a bravura turn from Oscar nominee Felicity Huffman (Transamerica) and a rich bounty of cinder-black humour, Tammy's Always Dying is a bruising tale of a mother-daughter relationship pushed to the brink.
Every month, when the welfare money runs out, 35-year-old Catherine (the gifted Anastasia Phillips) has to talk her self-destructive mother Tammy (Felicity Huffman) off the ledge of the same bridge... literally. This routine has gone on for so long that it's the only thing Cathy feels she's good at. And it's Tammy's selfish way of keeping hold of her daughter. When Tammy is diagnosed with terminal cancer and the possibility of life without her becomes very real, so does Cathy's repressed desire to leave her small town. Does she stay and trust the woman who has always let her down, or does she find the courage to live her own life?
Tammy's Always Dying will be available to stream from May 21 – June 3, 2020 and Talking About Trees from May 28 – June 10, 2020, exclusively through Classic, Lido, Cameo and Ritz Cinemas' On Demand Streaming Service for $14.99 each.
