Take a Girl Like You

Take a Girl Like You

"A funny and sexy tale of life in Britain in the late 1950s"

Adapted from Kingsley Amis's classic novel, "Take A Girl Like You"is a warm and playful story of an attractive young teacher, Jenny Bunn, as she contends with the wicked world of men. The story is played out in the summer of 1959 when English society is on the verge of embracing the Pill and sexual liberation. Against the backdrop of provinicial England and the jazz and stripclubs of Soho, it's a real battle of lust versus wits.

Backed by a sensual jazz soundtrack from musicians including Jimmy Giuffre, Gerry Mulligan, Coleman Hawkins and Lou Donaldson, "Take A Girl Like You" is a superbly crafted and wittingly observed account of the beginning of the sexual revolution.

Starring Rupert Graves, Hugh Bonneville, Robert Daws, Emma Chambers, Leslie Phillips and Sienna Guillory - this video is very enjoyable and one to get your hands on!

"Take A Girl Like You" is available from ABC Shops, ABC Centres and other video retailers.
