As part of the Sunshine Coast Pride Festival, Eumundi Markets will host the Pride Fair Day on Saturday 28 February, celebrating the Sunshine Coast's diversity by bringing together LGBTIQ community, and their friends and family, in a fun and supportive environment.
Eumundi Market Manager Daniel West said this is the second year the iconic Eumundi Markets have hosted the Pride Fair Day.
'We're thrilled to share in such a colourful community event," he said. 'It's a day of fun, great music, big laughs and getting together against the backdrop of the Eumundi Markets, home of the best artisan retail therapy on the planet!," Daniel says.
The hub of the festivities will be at the Eumundi Amphitheatre, and will be hosted by renowned drag queen Monica Fusions - always adding a splash of colour, pizzazz and fabulousness.
The day will feature a truly diverse entertainment line-up ranging from urban folk to dance/pop and electro funk, featuring artists including Kristy Apps and the Shotgun Shirleys, Felicity Burdett, Darren Adler, Youthfire, The Brisbane Lesbian and Gay Pride Choir, and The Ukulele Sisters (comedic duo), not to mention the legendary Dykes on Bikes.
Pride Fair Day will also see a Pride Trail throughout the markets – with stalls on the Trail marked with a rainbow flag. The Pride Fair Day program (available at the event on Saturday 28 February) has a wealth of discount coupons and special offers from Eumundi Market stallholders.
Given that the event is family friendly, there will also be entertainment to keep the kids amused - with face painting, jumping castle, a merry-go-round and more.
The 2015 Festival's theme is 'LOVE is LOVE", which is all about celebrating the beauty of love in all its many forms. Love does not discriminate. It is boundless, and is something worthy of celebrating.
