In a coming of age comedy about family, love and the great Australian dream, Subdivision is a beautifully crafted film set on the sparkling southern coastal corner of Queensland that all Australians will fall in love with!

Tapping into the Queensland housing boom and the quirky culture of small town Australia, Subdivision follows the story of the Kelly Family, a family deeply entrenched in the community of Hervey Bay and property development for their livelihood.

Digger Kelly (Gary Sweet) and son Jack (Ashley Bradnam) are local carpenters, and with mum Betty (Kris McQuade) doing the books, life could not be more simple and sweet for an honest and hard working Australian family.

Digger and his crew have a long history of assured employment through local property developer Harry (Steve Bisley). But when Harry declares himself broke, it's not just the Kelly family but the whole town that finds themselves 'up the creek'. On top of this, a new big city corporate developer enters the scene headed by Tiffany (Brooke Satchwell), making for even more uncertain times and a community divided.

Seeing his chance to make his own way in the world, Jack decides the future is with Tiffany and sets course for a head-on conflict with his dad Digger. With the town looking on, Jack and Digger's relationship is tested to the end, but not without some hilarious twists and turns along the way.

Also starring Australian film veteran and favourite Bruce Spence as Digger's mate and co-rugby coach Singlet, Subdivision highlights not only the ambitions of many Australian families, but also the often and natural conflict between fathers and their sons as they start to create their own life path. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, Subdivision brings together many of the most respected people of Australian film making including director Sue Brooks (of the acclaimed Japanese Story), and the producer of Gettin' Square Trish Lake. Added to this line up of talent is director of photography Jon Stokes, one of the makers of Australia, and showing he can write as well as act, the screenplay was written by Ashley Bradnam and his mum Jan.
